About FantasyDugout.com
My name is Jeff Howard and FantasyDugout.com is my attempt at a contribution to the world of Fantasy Baseball. What you see here is what you get. There are no large corporate sponsors or media companies running the show. I do the site design, programming, writing, and promotion. That's it, just me. So, if you have a problem, a request, an inquiry, or any other questions feel free to contact me at .
When I originally envisioned this page it was basically to build a links directory to make it easier on me to perform my daily or weekly research for my fantasy baseball teams. In the process I decided to go ahead and include links to as many fantasy baseball resources as I could. There are several fantasy baseball directories on the web, but I like to think my site does a better job than any of them of organizing the links into a usable format. Sure you'll find links to home pages here, but I have also included links to many "deeper" pages within a site. Need an injury report? Why go to 10 sites looking for them when you can go to the injuries category here and be linked directly to injury reports on a number of sites.
For those of you that don't know me, I was a staff writer at BaseballHQ.com for Ron Shandler from 1999-2003. I lessened my involvement with "HQ" this season to focus my efforts on this site and a number of other projects. I was dubbed the "Straight Draft Guru" by Ron and wrote many articles about straight draft style rotisserie leagues. In the beginning I also wrote several articles about National Challenge style games. I represented BaseballHQ in several Experts League competitions, winning the CBS Sportsline Experts League in both 2000 and 2003. I owe a debt of gratitude to Ron for giving me the opportunity to write for Baseball HQ and for introducing me to many of the industry's top minds. If you want more info about my fantasy baseball prowess see the Resume section below.
In the course of building this site and looking at 100s of fantasy baseball related pages, I got a hankering to provide some commentary of my own. So, "Spittin Seeds" was born. As far as I know it's the first Fantasy Baseball Blog on the web. Here you can find my random musings about just about everything related to fantasy baseball. From product evaluations, to player comments, to strategy tips...it's all there. I wanted to provide a little more relaxed (and sometimes overly subjective) input than some of the more formal content providers. So go ahead and read, agree, disagree, whatever.
In the end it is my goal to provide the world of Fantasy Baseball hobbyists with a sort of community. Where you can come to find the information that is critical to your success or simply to be entertained. If you have any ideas on how I can further either of those lofty goals then by all means send me an email (address above).
Thanks and good luck to everyone in 2004.
